The work was published at the end of the art residency Terraformation in collaboration with Farm Cultural Park in Sicily.
For the work "Talking Stones", the artist engraved a large rock in an area highly susceptible to wildfires in Butera countryside. Due to climate change, this region is experiencing very low rainfall, leading to depleted reservoirs and dry lakes. The drought has severely affected the agricultural sector, which depends on irrigation for crops such as wheat, citrus fruits, olives, and grapes.
A book was placed in the engraved rock to be discovered by passersby. It tells the story of two ancient stones that talk about climate change, its present and future consequences, and possible solutions. A girl named Elara ventures into the steppe one summer night, finds the stones, inserts her hand into the engraved rock, and is then able to hear their message, bringing about a global consciousness shift.
